Yoshoku Edoya traces its establishment to1954, when its founder, having studied Western cuisine, converted a Japanese confectionery shop into a restaurant – it still bears the name it had at its founding. The perennial favourite here is hamburger steak, served with a generous helping of demi-glace and topped with a fried egg. The skills with which the beef is kneaded and grilled to lock in juices are those of a master craftsman. Flavours of the good old days make perfect companions for rice. Yoshoku Edoya honors both its own culinary heritage and the traditions of Western-style Japanese cuisine.
