The setting of this excellent “Gallery of Flavours” is particularly striking: a park at whose centre stands an eighteenth-century Baroque manor, once the castle of Novo Celje. Decidedly more contemporary are the welcoming fine dining room and, above all, the gastronomic proposal, which takes local ingredients as its starting point and works them with technique and creativity. The choice extends between a concise à la carte menu and a tasting menu of seven courses, reducible to five. Among the most interesting dishes, the polenta with beef, a reinterpretation of a Slovenian classic, and the catfish mosaic with buckwheat, enriched by a beurre blanc sauce and leeks. With over 600 labels, the cellar is among the most remarkable in Slovenia.
