Kumiko Muraji hopes to serve as a bridge between Osaka and her beloved Marche region of Italy. The town where she stayed is renowned for its cicerchia beans, known in Japanese as renriso. Noting that the character for ‘ren’ is the same as her surname, she felt the hand of destiny. A area of foothills and mountains, Marche is a region distinguished for its vegetables and meats. Majolica pottery adorned with cicerchia flower-and-bean motifs complements the shop’s honest fare.
