Becoming something of an institution in the heart of Soho, Barshu sits on a prime corner site, decorated inside with lanterns and carved wood. The fiery flavours of China's Sichuan province are the draw here, although numerous other regions of China are well catered for too. Chillis and peppers are imported directly from China and play a big role in the cooking, such as in the stewed beef brisket with a wonderfully intense, fiery flavour. Generous portions make the dishes perfect for sharing, while the relaxed, caring service adds to the positive atmosphere.
