A family business in the truest sense! The younger generation has taken the reins, with Clemens Grabmer now at the helm, ably supported by his parents. His father, Heinz Grabmer, heads up the attentive and dedicated front-of-house team. In the kitchen, Clemens and his mother, Elisabeth, form a well-practised duo. Together, they skilfully strike a balance between classic and contemporary cuisine. Both the set menus (featuring dishes such as guinea fowl with Eferding beans, delicately spiced 'nduja and corn) and the à la carte selection are enticing. More traditional options are also available, including chanterelle goulash and braised veal cheeks, as well as wonderful Marillenknödel (apricot dumplings). The comprehensive wine list includes an excellent choice of Austrian and international labels. The exceedingly fairly priced weekday lunch menu changes daily and is particularly popular. Thanks to its location on the edge of the forest, the garden terrace is a charming spot in summer, with birdsong providing an acoustic backdrop.
