The location above Ellmau is spectacular! Whether in winter or summer, the unobstructed view of the valley and mountains is simply magnificent – take it in from the terrace or from inside the semi-circular dining room, through floor-to-ceiling windows. In the comfort of the chic Alpine decor, choose from an appetising modern-meets-regional à la carte menu – Austrian classics such as Wiener schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn (torn pancake dessert) can be as heartily recommended as "salmon trout, quince, blood orange, ponzu" or "jezz emperor goose, red cabbage, chestnuts, potato dumplings", for example. The atmosphere is pleasant and unpretentious, the service well organised, accessible and very friendly – guests are addressed informally. The nicely curated wine list also features a few rarities.
