Charisma, irreverence, boldness, youth, technique, and quality are just a few of the words that come to mind when we think of Simul, a restaurant in the cosmopolitan Kolonaki neighbourhood that always focuses on cuisine prepared on-site using the finest seasonal ingredients. Taking its name from a Latin term that could be translated as ‘together’, the dining room in this establishment boasts a casual atmosphere. Chef Nikos Thomas, well known for his appearances on the television show MasterChef, offers his guests a unique and impressive tasting menu with a contemporary and creative flair, based on the finest locally sourced Greek ingredients but with clear international influences (this is particularly evident in the use of French haute cuisine techniques). The dish we liked best was the one called ‘Langoustines (fermented honey and frozen foie gras powder)’. Sommelier Triantafillos Louzis’s excellent work certainly doesn’t go unnoticed!
