The foie gras and the wine (if expenive) was good.

We were stopping over night in langres and this is supposed to be the best restaurant. I do no think it is worth the money. Firstly, you need to note that unless you go a la carte the set menus offers no choice. It was for this reason we opted for the 45 rather than 32 euro set menu. (Snails are after all not everybody's cup of tea.) We firstly had an amuse bouche which was a small vegetable soup topped with foam. This was ok but did not amuse the mouth much. The main course was rack of lamb which we asked for medium. If was a bit more than medium and whilst very tender had no flavour and was very disappointing. The dessert was some sort of roasted pineapple contained in a cylinder of I know not what. This was pretty tasteless and the cylinder rather like burnt cardboard. We were sitting next to a couple who were obviously regulars which is a surprise as I would not go back. They were however in almost constant conversation with the waiting staff which was rather distracting.

nous y sommes retournés (invités), cette fois ci, c'était bien. rien à voir avec notre premier essai qui avait été très décevant.
