Vitoria-Gasteiz: De plaats ontdekken

Capital of the largest Basque province, Vitoria is the home of the government of the independent Basque community (Euskadi). It is situated in the heart of a wide plateau where cereals grow, nearer Castille than the humid hillsides of the Cantabrian coast. Vitoria is a trading town and a centre of industrial activity (food, chemicals and mechanics, agricultural machines). It is also famous for its playing cards and chocolate truffles.
